Good evening and welcome back to Thrills With JMills. Looking for some dinner inspiration? Bored? Just a plain old food fanatic like yours truly? I got you.
My lovely girlfriend Emma informed me that there were rumblings that Granite City has some pretty good chicken strips. I hadn’t remembered Granite City having chicken strips at all, but they rolled out a new menu on July 15 and here we are.

They almost look more like chicken fries than chicken tenders, but these little guys packed some nice flavor. The breading was fairly crispy and salty with good taste overall. The meat itself was a bit on the dry side, but the quality was there.
Accompanying the tenders were some standard crinkle fries that were doused in seasoned salt, which I’m generally a fan of.
Frankly, however, the star of the show was the two sauces I got with this basket, which I’m now realizing I forgot to photograph (nice).
The basket came standard with comeback sauce, which was tangy and creamy with just the smallest hint of heat. I added Granite City’s signature dip which was also delicious and maybe the better sauce of the two. It’s kind of like a sour cream dip elevated to the highest level.
Overall, I’ll give this basket a 7.1. The chicken and fries were both decent and had good flavor, but the sauces shined brightest. They were the most memorable aspects for me.
Thanks for reading. Stay safe and have a good weekend. 7.1.
