Basket Review No. 1: Wow Cafe

Welcome to my chicken strip basket reviews. I think I’ll shorten the series title to just “Basket Reviews” … yeah, Basket Reviews it is. Anyhow, in these posts I will give an in-depth analysis about a chicken strip basket I’ve eaten recently.

Why chicken strip baskets?

Because chicken strip baskets are the best, that’s why. It’s the best cheat day meal, and nothing tastes better than a chicken strip basket when you’re struggling to survive the day after a Saturday-night bender.

I will keep it pretty basic and simple; the aspects of the basket that influence the review are the chicken strips (duh), fries and ranch. Extras such as toast are greatly appreciated, but will not be taken into consideration to maintain a level playing field. I keep it 100 in the chicken strip game.

Let’s get into the strips.

For my first basket review, I’ll be talking about Wow Café of Minnesota State Moorhead’s Comstock Memorial Union.

This was a solid way to kick off Basket Reviews. The chicken seemed to be decent quality; the breading wasn’t too thick (thicc) and was well-seasoned, and the strips were decently crispy. My one complaint about the chicken is the strips could have been a little crunchier.

The fries were pretty good, they were nicely seasoned and had a good level of crispiness.

The ranch was very good, it definitely tasted like they make their own ranch at the Wow Café.

Overall it was a nice, reasonable chicken strip basket that would be a good option on any given day. I give it a score (out of 10) of 7.6.
