The Fargo-Moorhead area has finally been blessed with the holy presence of Chick-fil-A.
For my second Basket Review, I decided to get the low-down on a four-piece chicken strip combo from said establishment.
Before I get into the goods, let me just commend Chick-fil-A for creating a nice environment. The quality of service feels more like a local diner than a fast food chain. Someone came to the booth and asked if we were doing well and needed anything else. When we were about to leave, another employee came over and offered to clear our table and throw our trash away.
It was great. I actually felt like the staff wanted me there and valued my experience; so thank you, Chick-fil-A.
Also, peep the fire feature photo for this blog. Shout out to my guy Aaron Simmons for creating a logo for Basket Reviews; much love.
OK now we’ll dive into the chicken.
Chick-fil-A is an icon for a reason; the product is really good. And the chicken strip basket is no exception.
The strips tasted like they were high quality, especially for a fast food joint. They have a thin and tasty breading, but it could have been crunchier.
The waffle fries, as waffle fries always are, were very good. Both the strips and fries paired well with Chick-fil-A’s unique, delicious ranch.
Altogether it was a nice chicken strip basket that tasted like it was made with fresh, high quality ingredients.
My score: 8.1.
If I would have factored in the Chick-fil-A Sauce, this would have been an 8.4, maybe an 8.5. Don’t get me wrong, the ranch is great, but the restaurant’s signature sauce is some upper echelon stuff. I have to respect the game and keep a level playing field, so I needed to judge the ranch. 8.1.
