For Basket Review No. 7, I embargoed to NoBull, a downtown Fargo establishment I idiotically hadn’t previously dined at.
I say idiotically because their chicken strip basket is outstanding and wish I had discovered it sooner.
The strips really shined in this basket. The breading was not too thick, and the chicken itself was tasty and juicy. My one complaint is they could have been a little crispier.
The tots were well-seasoned and ideally crispy, which paired nicely with the (probably) house-made ranch.
With the basket came the most delicious coleslaw and Texas toast I’ve ever eaten in my life. But I will not take extras into consideration. While I greatly appreciate a fire piece of Texas toast, the playing field must remain even.
Overall, this is the best basket I’ve had so far. I give it an 8.5; really good strips, tots and ranch. The extras elevate the product, but have to be ignored. 8.5.
