Basket Review No. 12: Wild Bill’s

For Basket Review No. 12, my awesome parents were nice enough to treat me to an early birthday lunch Sunday at Wild Bill’s.

Both my father and I had the chicken tenders, and each of us were impressed.

In terms of quality, this was definitely the best chicken I’ve had thus far. What made the quality so good was the fact that they served actual hand-breaded tenderloins. The chicken was juicy and delicious, while the batter was ideally crispy. After just one bite, my knee-jerk reaction was to reward this chicken with the highest score yet.

As I continued to eat the strips, however, I concluded they were a little bland. Had the breading been seasoned well, this chicken could have certainly claimed the basket crown.

The fries and ranch were decent. I opted for the waffle fries over the crinkle-cut fries, while my Dad did the opposite. After trying a crinkle fry, I wish I would’ve ordered those. The waffle fries were seasoned nicely, but needed more time in the fryer because they were not very crispy.

The ranch was standard. It tasted good, but was nothing to write home about.

Though they will not influence the score, the coleslaw and jalapeño cornbread were delicious.

It lacked seasoning, but was a strong effort and still an A1 basket, so I’ll give it an 8.5.

This basket was like Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins. It has all the pieces to be one of the best, but ends up holding itself back from realizing its true potential. Still tasty though. 8.5.
