Village Inn seems like a nice establishment.
This was only the second time I’ve eaten there. I feel like it’s an elevated version of Perkins. The breakfast menu looked very good; however, I obviously went for my signature meal, the chicken strip basket.
This was OK.
The strips were the weakest part of the basket. They were pretty typical. It was average-quality chicken coated in an inconsistently crispy breading that was seasoned well enough.
The fries were pretty standard. They were well-seasoned and crispy. The ranch was probably the best part, it was quite tasty and had the perfect, creamy consistency.
It came with a piece of Texas toast that could’ve used another minute in the toaster, but still tasted pretty good. And it came with a second side, so I opted for the fruit to avoid drowning in deep-fried food and being a lifeless vegetable for the rest of the day. The toast and fruit will not factor into my score.
Overall, I give Village Inn’s chicken strip basket a 6.1. It was fine. It wasn’t that good. It wasn’t that bad. Bye.
