Melrose Bowl/Schif’s Bar & Grill is one of my favorite places to eat in my hometown of Melrose, Minn.
Schif’s menu offers tasty bar-style food options and the best Monday-Friday lunch specials in town.
My go-to meals there are the chicken ranch wrap and of course, the chicken strip basket.
The chicken is always juicy and is surrounded by a thin, crispy breading.
Schif’s fries are some of my favorites. They have good flavor, and are the ideal thickness and crispiness without being overly greasy or salty. The ranch is standard ranch, which is fine.
Overall, I give this basket a 7.4. There’s nothing crazy about it, but there were no real weaknesses. It’s just a good basket that I’d be happy with any day of the week.
But don’t let me dictate what you order; you really can’t go wrong with anything.
If you want to hit the lanes before or after your meal, the alley on its own is nice too. The lanes are well-kept and it has an up-to-date scoring system that functions well and is easy to use.
