Basket Review No. 27: O’Leary’s Pub

Hello and welcome to another revolutionary blog post.

For this week’s Basket Review, I grabbed a chicken strip basket from O’Leary’s Pub in Moorhead. I had never been there before, and honestly decided to go here solely for the reason that I didn’t have to drive very far.

And I was actually happy I went the lazy route for this review.

This was a nice basket. When food comes on this checkered paper, it’s a good sign.

The breading on the strips was ideally crispy and was one of the best-seasoned pieces of chicken I’ve had thus far. I think the seasoning was just salt and pepper, but it was great. I respect going back to basics.

The fries had a nice crunch on the outside, were fluffy on the inside and had a similar seasoning as the strips. The ranch was quite flavorful as well and had a pretty good consistency.

Overall, I give the O’Leary’s basket a 7.8. It was a really good chicken strip basket that was close to joining elite company in the eights. The quality of the strips was good, but not great, so that’s the only thing that kept it out of the eights.

But don’t hang your head, O’Leary’s, because this was a great effort. I will definitely be back.

Scoring these strips made me realize there are more ratings in my earlier days than initially anticipated that need adjusting. It’s been bothering me.

On one hand, what’s done is done, all scores are final and I need to just live with my mistakes. But on the other hand, I feel like I need to fix this, because I will eventually compile each rating into a collective scoreboard.

I can’t keep living like this. They have to change. O’Leary’s. 7.8.
