Basket Review No. 48: Sunset Lanes

Hello. Thanks for stoppin’ by.

I went to a bowling alley in Moorhead recently. They had chicken strips. I ate them.

To be blunt, this was a boring one. The strips themselves were pretty normal and not elevated in any way. I did like the fries, they were fresh and had some nice seasoned salt action … solid ranch, too.

Overall, I give this a 5.7. It was what it was. It was a chicken strip basket. That’s it. That’s the review.

In a past life, this probably would have creeped into the 6-6.4 range, but the deeper I get into the game, the wiser and stricter I become. I’m refined. I no longer have a rookie palate.

Don’t let me discourage you from venturing here. The service was quite friendly and the food came out impressively fast. This was, I believe, the second time I was at Sunset Lanes. The first time, I had some boneless wings (controversial food item) that were tasty.

Shoutout to the homie Zak for being present for the review. He was bowling in a tournament at Sunset and is a better bowler than me and everyone reading this. Sorry to be frank. That’s just the way it is.

OK, I have a couple upcoming things to tease.

First off, I referenced the “are boneless wings actual wings?” argument before. And as I was typing it, I decided this could make a good blog post. So in the near future, I will be settling this debate.

And second, I will be bringing you wonderful humans a new type of Basket Review. Stay tuned.
