McDonald’s has two wonderful, new breakfast items

New type of blog post, same protein.

Every now and then, as I’m sure many can relate, I get bombarded with restaurant coupons in the mail. Domino’s, Burger King and Pizza Hut are amongst the usual suspects.

A few weeks ago, there were some McDonald’s coupons in there. It had been some time since I went to McDonald’s, so my interest was peaked. Well, lo and behold, included on this sheet of coupons are three, buy one, get one free coupons for the new McChicken McGriddle and McChicken biscuit. I was shook. I had no idea such things existed. But, man, am I glad they do.

So I grabbed my coupon and moseyed on over to my neighborhood McDonald’s.

As far as chicken sandwiches go, the original McChicken is decent, but it certainly isn’t a standout. However, when you throw that crispy chicken patty on a biscuit, and especially a McGriddle, now we’re getting closer to elite fast-food territory.

The McGriddle was definitely my favorite of the two. The McGriddle buns, or whatever they’re intended to be called, have a sweetness to them, and the McChicken seasoning has a slight spice. Combined, they sing in harmony. What would really put it over the top would be a spicy maple aioli of sorts.

I was still satisfied with the McChicken biscuit. It wasn’t as good as Chick-fil-A’s, but it was very good.

I generally rate things on here, as you fine readers know, but I don’t really have a scale for this. Just for you, though, I’ll give it a shot. I would say the McChicken biscuit was a 7.1. I’ll give the McGriddle an 8.2, it was really good and possibly my favorite McDonald’s breakfast item.

I’m sort of testing the waters here. I want to roll out a premium site, as I’ve mentioned in the past, and would therefore want to produce more content. I will eventually run out of chicken strips to eat in the area, so I want to diversify the blog posts a bit. If you have any feedback, it’d be appreciated. Goodbye and have a nice day.
