Hey, long time no see. COVID really hasn’t been motivating me to review chicken tenders, but that’s about to change. I know you’ve missed these dearly, but not to fear, because I am back.
To get right into it, I’m trying to explore the freezer aisle a bit more to see just how good of a chicken strip I can find at the grocery store. This time around, I tossed some Perdue Simply Smart chicken strips and Market Pantry crinkle cut fries in the ol’ air fryer.
These tendies were pretty decent. I expected them to be good, because the title sounds a bit more bougie than the standard frozen strip. The quality was nothing to scoff at and the breading got a nice crisp to it after about eight to nine minutes of air frying. It was thin, but not the standard thin breading I’ve found many times in the past. It was more crumbly, if that makes sense.
These were not the greatest fries I’ve had from the freezer aisle. They got sort of crispy, but weren’t where I wanted to be and they needed additional salt. The Market Pantry ranch and Sweet Baby Ray’s buffalo wing sauce was delightful.
Overall, I’ll give this basket a 6.2 on the frozen scale. The side of fries didn’t quite live up to where I’d like them to be, but overall it was a good freezer aisle meal.
More frozen morsels will be reviewed next. I hope you’re all doing well and safe and calming the F down. I know COVID quarantine sucks and I want life to be back to normal. Be well and be kind. Goodbye. 6.2.
