Discussing a DELICIOUS Grand Junction sandwich

HAPPY FRIDAY. Congratulations. You’ve made it through another week and are ready to dive into the weekend.

During the weekend, you’ll have to eat something at some point. Why don’t you see if this scrumptious blog can inspire your weekend eats.

Big shoutout to Garrett Hol for sliding into my DMs and requesting this Grand Junction chicken cordon bleu sandwich, an item he feels is underrated. Hope all is well, G, I’m not at all upset that I had to eat Grand J for this one.

Grand J is a wonderful place. Fresh grilled sandwiches on some of the best bread you’ll find at any sandwich shop, quality meats and hand-cut french fries that are always fresh out of the fryer to complete your order. It’s just a solid establishment.

Garrett requested I go to the Moorhead Grand J, but but he didn’t need to. Of course I’m going to the Moorhead Grand J — it’s the best one. The staff is great, friendly and fast, and they care that you get a quality product — the exact reason my guy requested I go there.

OK, enough stalling. Let’s get to it.

Video here for your viewing pleasure. Text continues below.

This sandwich, like every Grand J sandwich, starts with the bread. They have some of the best French bread sub rolls out there. It’s firm enough on the outside and beautifully fluffy inside. It could elevate even the most basic ham and cheese.

What makes up the innards of the cordon bleu is grilled chicken, grilled Virginia ham, melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard and mayo.

My favorite touch they put on the sandwich is grilling the ham. Even if they had just thrown cold ham on the grilled chicken and cheese, it would have still been good; BUT, putting a little char on that ham puts it over the top. It’s a smaller detail that really goes a long way.

This was my first time eating the cordon bleu. My usual Grand J order is either the cajun ranch chicken or Philly cheesesteak, two of my favorite sandwiches in the area. Well, I think I may have another item to add to that. This sandwich was a home run in my eye, and you’re right, Garrett, it isn’t talked about enough. The cordon bleu is right up there with Grand J’s best.

Thanks for reading, thanks for watching, thanks again, Garrett, for requesting.

My line is always open, so if anyone wants to see something specific, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m an open book.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
