For my latest Basket Review I ventured to Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar in West Fargo.
Boston’s has a big menu and pretty much everything looked delicious, but I had to go with the chicken strips when I saw they were an option.
The strips were good-quality and the breading was thin and crispy; however, they were sightly bland. A pinch of salt would have really elevated these strips.
The fries were quite good. They were crispy enough and almost perfectly seasoned. The ranch was tasty and had a nice consistency.
There were several options for a second side, and I opted for the coleslaw. It was a little too sweet. A pinch of salt and some red onions would have gone a long way for the slaw. It won’t negatively impact my score. Strips, fries and ranch is the name of the game.
This also won’t swing the score, but it was not the best value basket I’ve had. I shelled out $11 for this meal, which is a little steep in my eyes. I’ve had more for less. But don’t get me wrong, it was still a good basket.
Overall, I give Boston’s basket a 7.6. Great fries and ranch, and a quality strip that just needed some more salt.
By the way, Boston’s has the best spinach-and-artichoke dip I’ve ever had in my life, and it’s not close. If you were to listen to one thing I’ll ever say on this blog; order the spinach-and-artichoke dip if you go to Boston’s.
I am looking forward to returning and further exploring the menu. They have a wide selection of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and much, much more. And the ambience is perfect to watch football for a couple hours (or the entire day) while having a couple (or eight) beers.
Shoutout to Emily and Brandon for introducing me to this restaurant. Much love. 7.6.
