I always feel like a square when a restaurant specializes in one specific thing and I do not order that thing. It’s like when I reviewed Paradiso, a Fargo Mexican restaurant, and ordered chicken strips. I felt like an idiot.
This scenario isn’t quite that bad, since Wingstop also has boneless wings, which are essentially small-scale chicken strips.
Anywho, let’s get to the goods.
This basket was fine.
The chicken strips were pretty normal. The crunch was satisfying, and the quality of chicken and seasoning was acceptable. They were maybe just a hair on the salty side, but I’d rather have too much salt than not enough.
The fries, overall, weren’t bad. Even eating several fries right away when I picked up my order (I like to try the food when it’s freshest, it’d be unfair if I drove 15 minutes and then judged it), the texture was inconsistent. Some fries were crispy, others were not at all and a couple were burned. But the seasoning was pretty decent.
The ranch was very good. I would be happy with it any day.
Overall, I’ll give this basket a 6.3. It wasn’t bad, just inconsistent in some areas.
Maybe one day when I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll put Wingstop head-to-head with Buffalo Wild Wings to see whose wings are better. Yeah, that sounds like quality content.
Ok, bye now. 6.3.
