FAM, hello!
I deeply apologize for not blogging lately. I’ve been focusing on TikTok and Instagram content (@thrillswithjmills on both). Follow me there if you don’t already. I do snack reviews and some other shorter videos multiple times a week there.
Another reason I haven’t posted much on here is because I ran out of storage. Due to how much site storage the videos eat up, I’ve decided to keep videos separate from written posts from here on out. Down the line, I’d like to get a YouTube channel up and running, too, to do longer videos on.
OK, now that I’ve explained myself, let’s review some chicken tenders. My dear friends Cody and Kiana showed me this wonderful spot in New Hope, Minn. — Pub 42.
Pub 42 describes its strips as “hand-breaded buttermilk chicken tenders.” As soon as I saw that description, there was no way I was ordering anything else. Restaurants that put actual effort into making chicken strips always earn my respect.
And these did not disappoint.
This was just an overall great chicken strip. The breading was crispy, the seasoning was satisfying from start to finish. These were comparable to my favorite chicken strips in Fargo, from SouthTown PourHouse. The breading was almost the same as PourHouse’s, these just had slightly less seasoning and the chicken was a hair, a HAIR on the dry side. Otherwise, zero complaints about the tenders.
Paired with the strips was a decent side of fries. They were crispy and well-seasoned. “You have to try the iconic dipping sauce!” reads the Pub 42 menu. They were right. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce. It was on the same track as a Cane’s Sauce. It was savory, tangy and delicious.
Overall, I give this basket an 8.6. It was a great showing by Pub 42 and I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. Or, I might just get the chicken strip basket again. TBD.
